My work is concerned with color, form, and the persona in nature. As the figures in the work interact with the sea and surroundings, they become interchangeable with the natural world. My imagery has been inspired by early memories of Cayuga Lake in upstate New York, stays in Arizona that included trips to Rocky Point, as well as three decades living alongside the Hudson River. – Jean Stern, 2023
