Alex Sterns architectural experience ranges from creating unique house and furniture designs to 10-storey urban loft conversion plans. He has worked for HSP Limited and Seglin Associates, and collaborated closely with the interior designer John-Mark Horton.
Alex received a Bachelor of Art from the University of Chicago and a Master in Architecture in 1994 from the University of Illinois-Chicago, where he studied with innovator Ken Isaacs. As a graduate student, he won the Chicago Childrens Museum Benefit Design Contest.
As an adjunct faculty member at UIC College of Architecture and the Arts (1994-2000), Alex led architectural design studios and taught courses on digital architecture and 3D modeling.
Alexs engagement with digital architecture extends to his position as Manager of Front End Development at the University of Chicago.
Alex has also played a key role in the City Design Centers Chicago Imagebase Project, including developing an searchable interactive database of Chicago architecture, and in the Jane Addams Hull-House Museum Urban Experience in Chicago site.
